Hawkesbury-Nepean River, NSW - Archaeological Research and Excavation
INVESTIGATING AUSTRALIA'S ANCIENT PAST
Client: NSW Roads and Maritime Services
The Project
Extent Heritage was engaged to undertake a suite of archaeological services as part of a major infrastructure project, including Aboriginal archaeological excavation. Over a three-year period (including both desktop research and several months in the field), our large team of specialists worked with seven traditional owner groups to investigate, excavate and carefully recover a 20,000-year-old occupation site on the banks of the Hawkesbury-Nepean River.
Value Unlocked
Our work yielded large quantities of highly significant archaeological data crucial to reconstructing our ancient past, while we worked closely with our client to minimise delays to the development of major road infrastructure.
