Dr Jennifer Jones-Travers wins at the ASHA Awards
Congratulations to Extent Senior Associate Dr Jennifer Jones-Travers for her win of the Judy Birmingham award for the Best Historical Archaeology Report at the recent ASHA Awards.
The report was the Former Schofields Aerodrome Preliminary Historical Archaeological Excavation Results Report (entered by GML Heritage for Defence Housing Australia). Jennifer was the project manager and lead author on this project, which was completed in collaboration with Abi Cryerhall (GML Heritage).
The report was awarded for being an innovative example of a public-facing outcome of archaeological research with an ability to effectively communicate archaeological information for a non-specialist audience - that is, in plain English.
We’re delighted that Jen has brought her talents to our team at Extent this year and we look forward to celebrating more achievements in the future.
The Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology (ASHA) is marking their 50th anniversary as an organisation supporting the talent and excellence of archaeologists in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific.
